The First Nations Child & Family Caring Society of Canada publishes the First Peoples Child & Family Review journal twice a year. Our journal is dedicated to interdisciplinary research honouring the voices, perspectives and knowledges of First Peoples through research, critical analyses, stories, standpoints and media reviews.
The purpose of the First Peoples Child & Family Review is to “reach beyond the walls of academia” to promote interdisciplinary research, practice, policy and educational publications that focus on Indigenous/First Nations/Aboriginal perspectives which advance innovative research, policy and practice within the field child, family and community-based issues.
It is a journal that showcases the “voices and perspectives” of Indigenous/Aboriginal child welfare scholars, researchers, practitioners, trainers, students, volunteers and community developers but welcomes submissions from all Canadians and interested individuals/groups from other countries. Contributions are especially encouraged from community-based practitioners whose work involves innovative, preventive, and traditional and/or healing approaches to child, family and community related research, practice and policy.
