Promote Shannen's Dream

On June 11th, 2012
Walk for culturally based equity for First Nations Children

Find out how you can give First Nations children the same chance to grow up safely at home, get a good education, be healthy, and proud of their cultures.

Everyone can help ensure First Nations children get safe and comfy schools and a good education. Here's how you can make a difference:

1. Sign up to support Shannen’s Dream. People of all ages and organizations can sign up - it is free and takes under two minutes!

2. On June 11, 2012, organize or take part in an Our Dreams Matter Too walk for culturally based equity for First Nations children

3. Write to your Member of Parliament and to the Prime Minister. First Nations children should not have to fight for services all other Canadians enjoy.

4. Spread the word! Get other people, schools, businesses, and organizations to sign up for Shannen’s Dream too!

  • Hold a brown bag lunch at your school, youth group, workplace, etc. to educate people about Shannen’s Dream and get people to sign up!
  • Show a video from the Shannen's Dream Gallery and hand out bookmarks so people can find out more (and sign up too!).

5. Donate to Shannen's Dream. Hold a bake sale, car wash or other event to raise funds for Shannen’s Dream.

  • Donate on line (Please specify your donation is for Shannen’s Dream)
  • Send a cheque (Please make payable to First Nations Child and Family Caring Society and specify that donation is for Shannen’s Dream).

Here are a few things to help you get started!
